Dental implants

What is dental implant?

Everyone knows that dental implants are titanium screws that are implanted in the jaw to wear false teeth made of high-quality materials.

At our Polyclinic all implant procedures are performed by the oral surgeon, an expert with years of experience and high medical training in implantology. The operations are performed with the help of excellent diagnostic, the highest standards of sterility with use of highest quality materials.

In the past the only replacement of natural teeth were dentures and bridges that could not meet all the needs. Recently, dental implants are considered the best solution to replace the missing tooth. The implants are able to imitate effectively the natural tooth root.

The dental implant consists of a small and robust titanium screw whose function is to replace the root of the missing tooth. It is inserted into the bone of the jaw. After the osseointegration the implant takes over the function of the natural root of the tooth and finally becomes able to support crowns, bridges or dentures. Dental implants are very robust and strong and if they are subjected to regular maintenance, they can last for a lifetime. Place the crowns, bridges or dentures on stable, secure and robust implants will ensure the patient feels having their natural teeth.

Implant placement planning

Polyclinic Medikadent primarily refers to the health and interests of our patients, which is why before making any restoration compile a treatment plan. The treatment plan is unique for each and the result of specific diagnoses reported by history and clinical examination, and so our role to choose the best option, individually tailored to the patient.

Polyclinic Medikadent plan implant therapy is made with the help of CBCT device, computed tomography, 3D technology that allows verification of bone tissue, as well as observation of a possible lack of necessary bone for implant placement.

To create the surgery plan we use the RealGuide technique of guided surgery that is based on the following principles:

  • Accurate three-dimensional reconstruction of the Patient by integrating data from X- rays (CBCT) and optical scanning of plaster models or intra-oral scans
  • Use of certified software (3Diagnosys) which, in a simple and intuitive way, allows the surgeon to make a complete pre-implant diagnosis and create a virtual surgery plan
  • Using the latest CAD/CAM and rapid prototyping technology for the automatic transfer of the treatment plan to a customised surgical guide and a work model with implant analogs housing to be mounted in the articulator for the construction of temporary prosthesis
  • Management of any type of implant rehabilitation intervention (partial, total and post-extraction edentulism) and bone regeneration (graft anatomical modelling)

IMPLANTS PREMIUM OXY IMPLANT, Astra Tech, Nobel Biocare and Straumann

Specially selected Oxy Implant surface has been developed with such characteristics to accelerate the biological answer of cellular adhesion, obtaining an optimization of the processes of osseointegration and the final clinical result. This kind of surface is decisive in achieving the best anchorage of the implant in the bone and a greater percentage of clinical successes.

PREMIUM OXY implants provide a lifetime guarantee if patients adhere dentist’s advice:

  • brush your teeth twice a day, morning and night
  • daily use of mouthwash
  • use interdental toothbrush around the place where the implants are placed
  • use of dental irrigator
