Why choose teeth whitening?
Your smile reveals about you and yours personality. A smile is the first thing people around you notice, and if it’s beautiful it gives you confidence and influences more open and better communication with others. Imagine all the good changes that a brighter, white smile could bring to you as well.
TEETH WHITENING WITH A ZOOM LAMP
Teeth whitening can be achieved in different ways and the result depends on the type of whitening. Bleaching with a ZOOM lamp gives excellent and visible results in one visit. Before you start whitening, your teeth should be professionally cleaned, treated and polished. Bleaching takes about 45 minutes. The procedure involves protection of the gingiva and mucous membranes, the teeth are coated with gel and immediately afterwards they are illuminated with a ZOOM lamp.
In this way, the gel is activated and maximum results are obtained. The persistence of the achieved tooth color lasts for more than a year. Of course, this depends on the consumption of food and colored drinks and also on oral hygiene. This method is very effective because the brightness and intensity are controlled by a dentist with the most advanced quality materials and equipment.
LASER TEETH WHITENING
Laser teeth whitening is one of the most popular treatments in dental offices. The laser method is very popular because it can whiten teeth from 4 to 6 grades. Laser whitening gives long-term results, also because it is a pleasant process that restores tooth color and improves the overall feeling of vitality of the teeth.
Compared to other procedures, this type of whitening is short and lasts only 20 minutes. Tooth sensitivity after treatment is not so prominent, which makes this method even more popular. The results are visible immediately after the treatment, and the teeth are visibly brighter.
TEETH WHITENING AT HOME, GEL AND CUSTOM TRAYS
The first step in this procedure is for the patient to come to the office to take imperessions for a custom-fitted trays. The patient applies gel to trays and wears it during a night’s sleep.
Because teeth whitening gel at home is lower in concentration than professional whitening treatment it takes longer but is equally effective: the patient should wear a tray every night for 1-3 weeks, the time of use depends on the shade you want to achieve.
WHITENING AVITAL TOOTH
Endodontic whitening
With internal whitening, the tooth is bleached from the inside out.
The avital tooth or “dead tooth” is usually dark due to residual blood or secretions in the dentinal tubules, so internal whitening is done on them, because the superficial (external) will not give the desired results.
Avital tooth whitening is performed with root canal therapy (if the therapy has not been performed yet, which may be the case when it came to trauma).
After the therapy, a cartridge of hydrogen or hydrogen peroxide is placed in the treated tooth and in this way the tooth is bleached internally – hydrogen peroxide decomposes into oxygen and water in a chemical oxidation reaction, and oxygen molecules as an active substance penetrate the tooth structure and whiten the tooth.
After a few days, the procedure is repeated (repeated until the tooth reaches a color with which the patient is satisfied). When the desired color is achieved, the tooth closes.
Temporary side effects of teeth whitening
After teeth whitening, temporary hypersensitivity to heat or cold, irritation of the gingiva and soft tissues may occur. However, by using new techniques and materials such side effects are minimized and disappear after a few days.
Reasons for teeth whitening:
- The smile is up to 8 shades whiter
- The whiteness effect lasts up to 2 years
- It does not damage the enamel
What should you stay away from after teeth whitening?
Enamel (tooth) pores are more open due to the action of the gel and thus more sensitive to the re-reception of molecules that cause dark color. For the first two weeks, you should avoid or reduce your intake of coffee, red wine, dark fruit juices, black tea and cigarettes.
Durability of bleaching results?
This is completely individual and depends mostly on habits. In principle, the color lasts for several years and then slowly “disappears”. By regularly cleaning the teeth tartar, sandblasting and changing life habits, it is possible to keep the whiteness for a very long time.
